Neurological monitoring: Invasive neurological monitoring
Your nervous system has been monitored over a long period of time.
The nervous system includes all the nerves in the body, as well as the brain and the spinal cord. The nerves run from the brain and spinal cord into the body. They convey information in the body.
A sensor was implanted in your body to monitor your nervous system. This often involves monitoring the brain. A sensor in the brain enables a study of how well the brain is being supplied with oxygen, for example.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
