You were treated in hospital for a few weeks in preparation for a donor heart and donor lung.

The heart pumps blood through the body. In the process, the blood flows through blood vessels. The blood supplies all areas of the body with oxygen and nutrients. You need lungs to breath. When we breathe in, oxygen enters the lungs and accumulates in the blood. This blood then flows to the heart. The heart then pumps the oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. All of the organs are supplied with oxygen as a result.

Someone is given a donor heart and lung when their own heart and lung stop working well enough. There is usually a very limited number of donor organs available. So there is a waiting list for the relevant donor organ. You are on the waiting list for a donor heart and lung.
