You have become infected with certain bacteria. As a result, your intestines have become inflamed.
These bacteria are called Clostridium difficile. Clostridium difficile are bacteria that are located in the intestines of even healthy people. A certain balance usually prevails between the various bacteria in the intestines. A large part of these bacteria is also beneficial to the body. This balance can be disturbed by various diseases or drugs. Clostridium difficile can then spread and cause symptoms.
You can then have diarrhea and abdominal pain, for example.
