B17.1: Acute viral hepatitis C
You have an inflammation of the liver that is caused by viruses.
Your liver has become inflamed as a result of the hepatitis C virus. So this liver inflammation is also called hepatitis C.
If the liver is inflamed, this can cause various symptoms. The skin and eyes may turn yellow. The stool may be colorless and urine may be very dark. You may also feel nauseous. You can get a fever and have muscle pain. You may also feel feeble and tired. You may be seriously ill. The liver inflammation also sometimes causes no symptoms at all.
The viruses may remain in the body for a long time.
