Your thyroid gland is not working properly. In your case, it was caused by drugs or other substances.
The thyroid is a small organ at the bottom of the neck. The thyroid gland needs iodine to produce important messenger substances for the body. These messenger substances influence the heartbeat, digestion, and body temperature, among other things. You have taken drugs or substances that have adverse effects on the thyroid gland. Your thyroid gland is thus producing insufficient messenger substances.
If you have insufficient messenger substances in your body, you may have typical symptoms. For example, you might move more slowly or not be able to think as quickly. You may also have dry skin or constipation.
