H93.2: Other abnormal auditory perceptions
You are no longer hearing properly.
For example, in the affected ear one might hear sounds higher than usual. One might also hear sounds louder than usual in the affected ear. Quiet sounds may not be heard so well.
If one is not hearing properly, certain sounds may be perceived as unpleasant. If someone’s hearing is worse after loud noise, they may feel as though they have cotton batting in their ear.
Additional indicator
On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.
