I70.25: Atherosclerosis of arteries of extremities: pelvic-limb type, with gangrene

Deposits have formed in the arteries in your pelvis and your leg. As a result, you have symptoms.

The arteries carry the blood from the heart to the body. In your case, fats and calcium have been deposited in the wall of the arteries in your pelvis and your leg. This can make the wall of the arteries harder and thicker. The deposits can also cause the arteries to get narrower. Then, sometimes, not enough blood can get to the pelvis and the legs.

The deposits are causing you some problems. You have wounds in your leg that are not healing well. The wounds may not be healing well because, for example, the skin is not getting enough blood. As a result, parts of your tissue have died off.

Various risk factors can favor deposits in blood vessels. These include, for example, smoking, obesity, and high blood pressure. Avoiding these risk factors can slow the progress of the disorder. This can also help prevent problems arising from the disorder.
