K00.6: Disturbances in tooth eruption

There is a teeth eruption disorder.

Normally, each tooth breaks through the gum within a certain time period. This applies both to milk teeth and adult teeth.

Different teeth eruption disorders may occur. The teeth may break through the gum too soon or too late. This is the case, for example, when the teeth of a newborn baby have already erupted. When milk teeth fall out too soon or too late, this is also a tooth eruption disorder. It is also possible that milk teeth fail to fall out by themselves. The adult teeth may also fail to break through the gum. The eruption may fail to take place even though there is no external barrier preventing it.
