L85.3: Xerosis cutis

You have dry and scaly skin.

Normally, the skin produces various fats that are intended to keep the skin supple. With this condition, not enough fats are produced anymore. The skin also gets too little fluid.

This makes the skin dry and flabby and rough and cracked. It can also flake and be itchy.

This skin condition is caused by various things. These include older age and other skin conditions. Various medications or too frequent washing can also make the skin dry and scaly.
