N46: Male infertility

You are unable to have children.

If you do not have a child over a long period of time despite having unprotected sex, your condition is referred to as infertility. Your testicles may produce too little or no functioning sperm.

Sperm are produced in the testicles. During climax the sperm pass out of the body from the testicles through the spermatic duct (vas deferens). If the man’s sperm fertilize one of the woman’s eggs, the egg may develop into a child.

There are a number of causes of infertility or a low sperm count. Certain conditions or medication can cause infertility or a low sperm count. It is also possible that the spermatic duct is not working properly.
