S35.5: Injury of iliac blood vessels

You have damaged one or more blood vessels in your pelvis.

There are many blood vessels in the pelvis. The pelvis is the connection piece between the abdomen and the legs. The blood in the pelvis also flows to the lower back and the legs.

You have damaged blood vessels in your pelvis. The pelvis is the connection piece between the spine and the legs. The pelvis consists of several bones that have fused. The pelvis is where the bladder and the genital organs, for example, are located.

When a blood vessel is damaged, there is usually bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy, blood may collect in the tissue. There may then be some pain. When there is bleeding below the skin, a bruise sometimes forms.
