Biopsy without incision on digestive organs: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration of pancreas

Tissue samples have been taken from your pancreas.

The pancreas is located in the upper abdomen. It regulates the sugar content in the blood and forms substances for digestion, for example.

Tissue samples were taken from you while you were having an ultrasound examination. This ultrasound examination was done using a tube. To use ultrasound to closely examine tissue or organs, the ultrasound probe should be as close as possible to the location being examined. For this purpose, the ultrasound probe can be inserted into the body using a tube.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
