1-930.4:
Infection monitoring and molecular/microbiological diagnostic procedures: Infection monitoring: Genotypic or phenotypic resistance assay to determine viral resistance (HI viruses or hepatitis B virus) to antiretroviral substances
An investigation was carried out to see whether certain viruses in your body are resistant to specific medications.
The viruses examined were HI viruses or hepatitis B viruses. These viruses can remain behind in our bodies permanently after infection. HI viruses can damage the body’s own immune system, thereby causing HIV disease. Hepatitis B viruses can cause inflammation of the liver.
The specific medications should ensure that the viruses cannot multiply so easily in the body. However, sometimes viruses change and are resistant to medications as a result. The medications may then no longer work properly. During your examination, tests were done to find out which medications are still effective and which are no longer helping. This allows the treatment to be tailored to your specific needs. This examination involved taking your blood and then examining it in a laboratory.
Additional indicator
If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.
- L: Left
- R: Right
- B: Both sides
