Infection monitoring and molecular/microbiological diagnostic procedures: Molecular/microbiological diagnostic procedures: Without resistance assay

You have been examined for pathogens.

The examination involves tissue samples, blood or other bodily fluids being sent to a laboratory, where it is first determined whether there are any pathogens in the sample. If this is the case, then the pathogens can be precisely identified. Pathogens can, for example, be viruses, bacteria and fungi. An infection causes pathogens to enter the body and multiply there. For an infection to be treated specifically, one should know the pathogen that causes the disease.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Further information

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
