Other operations on lungs and bronchus: Other operations on lungs and bronchi: Plastic coating of bronchial or vascular anastomoses and/or sutures: With greater omentum
An operation on your lungs or bronchi involved using tissue from another part of your body.
Air is breathed in via the mouth or nose. From there the air goes to the windpipe via the larynx. At the end of the windpipe are two bronchial tubes (or bronchi) branching away from it. The bronchial tubes run into the lungs. What is more, the bronchial tubes divide into even smaller branches. The larynx, windpipe, bronchia and lungs are part of the lower airways.
The operation involved stitching bronchi or blood vessels. To cover or reinforce the stitches, specific tissue from your abdominal space was used.
The special tissue in your abdominal cavity is located between the intestine and the abdominal wall. It consists mainly of fatty tissue and connective tissue. It also contains very many defense cells.
