Rhythm surgery and other operations on heart and pericardium: Minimally invasive reconstruction of pericardium and heart: Transarterial implantation of a ventricular partitioning implant

You have received heart treatment so that it will work better.

The heart is composed of a thick muscle layer and a thin membrane in the heart interior. An external sac, the pericardium, surrounds the heart. This sac consists of a tight membrane.

The heart pumps blood through the body. Inside the heart are 4 chambers. There are 2 heart atria and 2 ventricles. Both heart atria and both ventricles are separated from each other by a partition.

When the heart is damaged, it is no longer able to pump sufficient blood around the body. The treatment involved inserting synthetic material into your heart muscle.

The synthetic material is pushed through a blood vessel in the groin or the arm to the heart, and then attached there. This synthetic material looks like a small parachute and its purpose is to make the ventricle smaller. As a result, the heart should be able to better pump blood around the body once more.

Additional indicator

If necessary, additional letters are appended to OPS codes to indicate which side of the body is affected.

  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides

Note

Your doctor will assist you with any health-related questions and explain the OPS code to you in a direct consultation if necessary.
