Other operations on skin and hypoderm: Temporary soft tissue coverage: Placement or replacement of a vacuum therapy system: Endorectal
You have had a wound treated. A special system was used that produces constant negative pressure.
You have had a wound in your rectum treated. The last segment of the large intestine consists of 2 sections. These 2 sections are the rectum and anal canal. The feces are collected in the rectum. The feces then move through the short anal canal to the anus. Feces are excreted through the anus.
A sort of sponge was inserted into the wound. This sponge is connected to a pump by a tube. Air is then continuously sucked through the tube. In this way, the system produces negative pressure in the wound.
Treatment using negative pressure enables wound fluid and any pathogens present to be sucked out of wounds. Another aim of the treatment is to provide a better blood supply to the wounds and seal them up again more quickly.
