R57.2: Septic shock
You are having a lot of problems with your circulatory system. In that case, you may be seriously ill.
The heart pumps the blood through the blood vessels to the body. Then the blood flows back to the heart. This is called the circulatory system or bloodstream. Blood supplies oxygen and nutrients to the tissue in the body.
Your blood circulation is no longer working properly. This means that some areas of your body are no longer getting enough blood.
There could be several reasons why your blood circulation is not working properly. You have probably been infected with pathogens. This has caused severe inflammation to spread in your body.
Having serious problems with your blood circulation often leads you to have several symptoms. For example, the blood pressure can be very low and the heart can beat very fast. Insufficient blood no longer being able to get to the brain may cause you to lose consciousness. Other organs such as the kidneys or lungs may also no longer work properly. This can be life-threatening.
