Partial residential care and respite care
People in need of care who are normally cared for at home can take advantage of partial residential care and respite care (short-term residential care). Here you will learn what services there are and who is entitled to them.

- People in need of care who are normally cared for at home are also entitled to partial residential care and short-term care.
- Care recipients whose home care cannot be satisfactorily guaranteed receive partial residential care.
- Care recipients can avail themselves of respite care for a transitional period following inpatient treatment or if home care is temporarily not possible or inadequate.
- With care levels 2 to 5, the long-term care insurance covers the costs up to the legally stipulated maximum amount.

Partial residential care and respite care: what is it?
Care recipients who are normally cared for at home can not only claim care attendance allowance or outpatient nursing benefits-in-kind (for example support and care services). There are also other services that support home care if needed. They include partial residential day care or night care and temporary respite care.
